Licensed to Wed!

It's official, folks...we've received our license to get married!Woo! And it wasn't even that painful.  We got our marriage license at Boston City Hall, and within the course of visiting 2 windows and about 10 minutes of our time - we were all set!

ACTION SHOT! The Groom filling out his side of the application

First and foremost, when applying for your marriage license - go online and find out what you need to bring with you! The couple ahead of us in line trudged off to find an ATM after realizing that the application fee could only be paid in cash.  Also, WRITE LEGIBLY! Though I'm sure she wasn't supposed to, the clerk showed us the application she was working on which had names crossed out, other names written backwards, and was very difficult to read.  She told us if she mis-types the license because she can't read the writing, that couple has to pay another $50 to get a NEW license! Ugh!

Wouldn't it be nice if our license were this pretty? Nope, it's your standard boring government document.  If you squint at it enough, it even looks like a tax form!

I'm super excited that the legal hurdle to marriage is done! Now to run more errands, check in with more vendors...but we're so ready to be married! YAY!

  1. Congrats! Just one step closer!

  2. Yay that means you are soooooo close!!!! I remember this feeling not too long ago! :)
