On Sunday, we flew from Paris to Rome. We flew on EasyJet, one of the discount European airlines. Our flight was fine - but there was definitely a lack of communication from EasyJet staff on boarding the plane - and I think the phrase "you get what you pay for" definitely applies to airlines as well!
We arrived in Rome and got to our hotel, which was right on the Piazza della Rotonda facing the Pantheon. Our view upon opening our window?
It was GREAT! There was always something going on in the square, and it was a lot of fun to have a front row seat from our window!! After settling into our hotel, we headed out to explore the neighborhood, and find some dinner.
This gorgeous church was just around the corner from us.
While I didn't get a picture, we decided to have a gelato appetizer before we found a place for dinner!
Yet another Egyptian obelisk!
While the ads for the "NYCrispy Burger" were entertaining, we typically used the many McDonald's signs to navigate!
Enjoying our first glass of Italian wine!
YUM! I could eat Italian pasta all day!
And back to the square.
Another view of the Pantheon
The square at night
And the Pantheon at night!
We enjoyed our first afternoon and evening in Rome, and couldn't wait to spend the rest of the week exploring the city!
